NuVue ChemoTM
NuVue’s third therapeutic product line is the NuVue ChemoTM line of microencapsulated chemotherapeutics. The NuVue ChemoTM product line uses the same, NASA/NuVue-developed microencapsulation technologies as the NuVue BrightMark™ Tissue Site Markers, but encapsulates FDA-approved, generic chemotherapy drugs, such as Doxorubicin, 5FU, Cisplatin, etc. As with BrightMark™, the microencapsulation assists in the deposition, retention, and imaging of the drug in the tissue. Additionally, the microcapsules can be designed for release through the use of different proprietary delivery methods during a specific time frame desired by the practitioner.
The drugs will be delivered under NuVue’s enhanced Ultrasound Guided Visualization, to assure accurate targeting. They can be delivered as the sole therapeutic agent, using NuVue’s ChemoAblator™ (Cool) InjectorTM, or combined with cryothermal effects in the CryoChemoAblationTM procedure. The system has been prototyped, and, after manufacturing preparations, will be submitted for FDA approval.
The NuVue Chemo™ microencapsulated chemotherapy drugs will give practitioners new flexibility in delivering drugs in treating soft-tissue cancers.
[Please note that the NuVue Chemo™ line of microencapsulated chemotherapeutics are in NuVue’s product pipeline; they have not yet been approved by the FDA and are not yet available for sale or use in the U.S.]
